TitanFall Revealed, Respawn Entertainment’s Xbox One Exclusive

TitanFall leaked today and it is Respawn Entertainment’s first game set to make a debut exclusively on Xbox One. Game Informer let the cat out of the bag a bit early but as a result everyone has gotten early insight on TitanFall prior to its official reveal. When the small team at Respawn set out to create their game they realized that their assets and projections put the project at specifications that were too powerful for the current generation of gaming consoles. Upon approaching Microsoft about TitanFall, Microsoft’s “response intrigued them”.

In addition to releasing on Xbox One, TitanFall will be coming to PC; an Xbox 360 port will be completed by a different developer. Compromises were made hence Respawn’s small team however they’ve stated: “Not to say we won’t [go multiplatform] in the future, but for our first game we wanted to focus on making the best game we could.

What is TitanFall? This first person shooter is compiled of mechs called “Titans”, and “Pilots” of segregated humanity establishments in the solar solar system including and other than Earth. Titans seem to be exactly how they sound, rivals of Optimus prime, in terms of scale, but they’re swift and can be piloted by the humans.

TitanFall is built on a heavily modified Source (Valve) engine and will run at 60FPS sporting campaign multiplayer, traditional competitive, and single player. Microsoft’s cloud architecture will support the game’s AI and physics.

TitanFall releases Feb. 2014. Expect to hear more about this during our E3 coverage.

Thanks NeoGAF
