Phil Spencer Talks About The Future of Windows Gaming
Recently, Microsoft has been trying release more games on their Windows operating system. Popular titles such as Killer Instinct, Halo Wars 2, Gears of War Ultimate Edition and Fable Legends have all been announced for a PC release alongside their release on Xbox One. Despite this Microsoft has chosen to keep titles such as Crackdown 3, Scalebound, and Quantum Break Xbox One exclusive.
In an interview with PC gamer Spencer stated:
In the case of things like Scalebound or Crackdown or Quantum Break, you know, just to be completely honest with you, we started those games before we really looked at expanding into Windows in the way that I wanted to bring as part of becoming head of Xbox.
Despite this, Spencer tried to reassure Xbox gamers that they would still be making an effort to expand their game library into Windows, and even implied that there were more games they were thinking about bringing to PC. Spencer even went on to say that there was a chance that these three games could come to windows in the future but for right now he’d like the developers to “[stay] on the path to finish the great games that they’ve started.”
