SCEJA Press Conference – The Run Up to TGS 2015

Today, Sony held a press conference leading up to the Tokyo Game Show. They showcased quite a few titles from several internal studios as well as from third parties. Of course, all of these dates are the Japanese dates, so the Western releases can possibly different.

Bloodborne: The Old Hunters

Sony showed off a new trailer that had several brand new weapons and bosses. The Old Hunters is going to be a full downloadable expansion available in November 2015. On December 3rd, the game and the DLC will be available in a special package for new players..

Everybody’s Golf/Hot Shots Golf

The trailer for Everybody’s Golf showcased a country club with several non-golf activities like paragliding. The game promises to have custom characters and the ability to interact with people worldwide. Everybody’s Golf will be available in 2016.

Gravity Daze/Gravity Daze 2

Gravity Daze, or as it’s known in the West Gravity Rush, debuts with a shiny new trailer. A remaster of the original Vita game on the Playstation 4 will be available in December in Japan. A collector’s edition version of the PS4 game will be available as well. It will come with a Figma figure of the main character, Kat. There was even a gameplay trailer for Gravity Daze/Rush 2. Gravity Daze 2 will be available on the Playstation 4 in 2016.

For Honor

A completely new IP game from Ubisoft. It is to be an action game featuring samurai, vikings and knights. It looks to be an action game, but not much more information was shown other than some gameplay of the samurai.

Assassins Creed: Syndicate

A trailer for the Jack the Ripper DLC. The DLC will be available with the game’s season pass.

Yakuza Kiwami/Yakuza 6

Kiwami is a remake of the first Yakuza game for Playstation 4 and Playstation 3. Not only is the game have a visual upgrade, but it includes some new story content. It will be coming out in Japan in January 21, 2016. Yakuza 6 is formally announced. No details yet except for a release in Fall 2016 on the Playstation 4. Kiwami will come with a demo of Yakuza 6.

King of Fighters XIV

The long running franchise makes it’s appearance on the PS4 in 2016. It will be a 3D fighter similar to Maximum Impact sub-series.

Phantasy Star Online 2

The PS4 version will be available in  Japan in 2016. No word on a Western release.

One Piece Burning Blood

A cel-shaded 3D fighter. Available on PS4 and PS Vita.

Toukiden 2

Toukiden 2 will be released for Playstation 4, Playstation 3, and Vita. The hunting game will be an open world game released in 2016.


NIOH was originally announced around 10 years ago and will be out in 2016 on the Playstation 4. It is an action game that promises to be very difficult.

World of Final Fantasy

Brand new characters in the game, such as Lightning and the Hero of Light from FF1. Also seen in the trailer were several summons; Ifrit, Shiva, and Odin. The game is going to be released in 2016 for Playstation 4 and Vita.

Star Ocean Integrity and Faithfulness

A new gameplay strailer showing battles and the environment. Febuary 25th release in Japan. Star Ocean 5 is going to be new player friendly to those who have never played the other games in the series.

SaGa: Scarlet Grace

The long running series returns with a brand new entry. A release in 2016 for Scarlet Grace on the Vita.

Kingdom Hearts HD II.8 Final Chapter Prologue

2.8 Final Chapter Prologue will bridge the game between the 2,5 anthology to Kingdom Hearts 3. The game comes with an HD remaster of Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance which originally released on the 3DS. Also included is Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A Fragmentary Passage- which takes place at the end of the original Birth by Sleep and will follow Aqua. Also included is the movie Kingdom Hearts χ [chi] Back Cover. Chi tells the story of the Foretellers which is found in the mobile game Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ [chi]. The new anthology will be released only on the Playstation 4.

Dark Souls 3

Dark Souls 3 will be released on March 24th, 2016.

Hatsune Miku Project Diva Future Tone

The brand new title in the Project Diva franchise, Future Tone, will see release on the Playstation 4.

Resident Evil Umbrella Corps

A team deathmatch title that has opposing military forces battling against each other and zombies. The game will be released in 2016 as part of the 20th anniversary of the series.

Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky

This recently announced RPG from tri-ace and Spike Chunsoft will be released on the  Playstation 4 and Vita.

Danganronpa 3

The latest in the visual novel series about despair, Danganronpa 3 will be released for the Playstation 4 and PS Vita. The trailer showed Monokuma, Shirokuma, and Kurokuma. More information was promised and will be released soon.

Dragon Quest Heroes 2

The game is currently in production and will include 4 player multiplayer. The game will be released on Playstation 4, Playstation 3, and Vita.

Dragon Quest Builders

The game is set in the same setting as the original Dragon Quest. The game promises to be accessible to players of all ages.  January 28th is the release date in Japan.

Call of Duty Black Ops 3

The game will include a zombie mode that gets its influcences from 1940s film noir.

Playstation 4 Customization

New color hard drive covers for the Playstation 4 and will only be available in Sony stores. There are also four new controller colors for the PS4, Gold, Silver, Steel Black and Crystal. Crystal will be a transparent white controller.

Playstation VR/Morpheus

Morpheus has been officially renamed to Playstation VR. Including the already playable demos, Final Fantasy XIV has been made to work with PSVR. Still no word on date or price yet.

Playstation 4 Price Drop

The Playstation 4 has seen its first price drop in Japan. Starting October 1st, the PS4 will retail at 34,980 Yen. A drop of 5000 yen. That puts it around $292.74 retail with a $41.85 drop in price. No word on a price drop in the West however.
