Wii U May Cease Production By The End of 2016

Nintendo will be suspending the production of its home console, the Nintendo Wii U, at the end of the year 2016 according to The Nikkei. So far, the Wii U has sold 12+ million consoles in total as of the end of 2015. The Nikkei also reports the gaming giant won’t necessarily begin selling the Nintendo NX in 2016; however, it is rumored Nintendo will. The Japanese paper also reports certain Wii U accessories aren’t being sold anymore and that the company plans to deplete their inventories by year-end.
