Destiny 2 Gameplay Reveal + Trailer
Bungie has just revealed the first gameplay bits of Destiny 2, and if you enjoyed the first title, you will definitely feel right at home in Destiny 2. From the brief tidbits that were shown, it definitely appears to be a “Destiny 1.5.” Although, that may sound a bit harsh, it does add in some features that have been asked for (very) early on in Destiny. Namely, Destiny 2 will feature a way for more people to experience the end game content via use of officially supported Clans and Guided Games. Guided games allow you to search out Clans that are looking to fill out their fire team for the more challenging aspects of the Destiny series, such as Raids and Nightfall Strikes. Since they noted that 50% of the people actually completed the raids, this should allow a far greater number of players to experience the more challenging content Destiny 2 has to offer. It isn’t straight up matchmaking, but it does appear to be a far better way to fill out a fire team versus scouring the internet.
On top of the various new locales, “end boss,” Raid and Strikes, Destiny 2 Crucible games will all be played as 4v4 versus the varying number of players in the first title. Also briefly mentioned, the PC version of Destiny 2 will be downloadable exclusively through Blizzard’s Battle.net Launcher. This isn’t all that surprising considering Activision and Blizzard merged years ago, and Activision owns the rights to publish all Destiny games (although they should just start calling it Loot.net from here on out).
While mention of a Beta was announced for the Summer, no further details were given.
Destiny 2 will be released on September 8, 2017 for PS4 and Xbox One (and presumably Scorpio). The PC release date is undetermined.
