It is almost a striking resemblance of the Galaxy S3 but with a more rectangular shape, while the Galaxy S3 is more curved. The phablet (phone+tablet=phablet) is thinner than the original and only slightly heavier. The new screen size is where it is all at.
Screen: It is quite the upgrade for the original going from a 5.3-inch display up to a 5.5-inch 1280X720 HD AMOLED touchscreen. The 16:9 screen ratio makes this device an on the go movie watchers (big) best friend.
Camera: On the back of the device holds an 8-Megapixel Auto-Focus camera and LED flash, while the front-facing camera has downgraded from a 2.0 megapixel sensor camera to a 1.9 megapixel sensor. With the back-facing camera you can shoot it 1080p HD video and has features that were previously exclusive to the S3 including Burst Shot, Best Photo, and Buddy Photo Share.
Processor: Going from a 1.4GHz dualcore processor to a quadcore and having 2GB of RAM will ensure that things will preform smoothly, especially noticable with new features like PopUp Web and PopUp Note and watching videos while browsing the web.
Battery: The Samsung Galaxy Note promised about 13 hours of battery life on a 2,500 maH battery, Samsung has loaded the Galaxy Note 2 with a 3,100 maH battery which should help support all these new goodies.
Storage and connectivity: This sequel will support Bluetooth 4.0, USB, Wi-Fi (of course), and MHL smartphone to TV. 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB WITH MicroSD card support (expandable up to 64GB) will be manufactured.
S Pen: This is what makes this phablet even better. The S Pen that is now availible for the Galaxy Note 10.1 will be bundled for this 5.5-inch piece of goodness. Better grip, rubber tip, and increased pressure sensitivity means greater accuracy. On top of the usual S Pen apps like S-Note, S Planner, and Email, new features like S Pen Air View will allow you to hover the stylus over content such as emails allowing you to view them without navigating away.
Software: Not only will this device be busting down the doors with all of these amazing features, it will be doing so in Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. No carriers or release date have been specified, but stay tuned to Dual Pixels for the full scoop on everything Tech.
