Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain E3 2014 Gameplay Released
Earlier today, Konami Station released a ton of information on Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Included is a huge interview with Hiedo Kojima himself, as well as an entire mission, approximately 30 minutes long of the game. This information was previously only shown off at Konami’s booth at E3.
The video does a great job of showing off key features which include; a live weather system, new stealth mechanics, the silky smooth 1080p30fps gameplay, building and populating Motherbase, the Fulton recovery system and new moves you can use with your stealth box!
The game appears to be shaping up to be quite a gem. Where the overly long cinematic sequences of MGS4 turned many people off, the Phantom Pain looks to transition seamlessly between scripted scenes to gameplay, which will provide a more coherent gameplay experience.
Working as a sequel to MGSV: Ground Zeroes, Konami Station said that The Phantom Pain is 200 times bigger than Ground Zeroes. The location shown in the video hammers down this point as it already appears to be bigger , or at least as big as Ground Zeroes.
Metal Gear Solid games are generally tightly scripted sequences of events, but The Phantom Pain is finally providing us with a huge open space to tackle as we please. It’ll be nice to be able to take whatever route we feel is best, while still, hopefully, keeping that Kojima feel with the game.
Enjoy the gameplay below:
* The gameplay starts right around the 47-minute mark.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is developed by Kojima Productions, published by Konami, and is set to release on PS3, Ps4, Xbox360, and Xbox One. The game doesn’t have a set release date as of this posting.
