Overwatch – Blizzard’s Brand New IP

Today at Blizzconn, Blizzard Entertainment announced their first new IP in years, Overwatch. Overwatch is a team-based FPS multiplayer shooter, similar to Team Fortress 2. The game boasts about 12 characters and takes place on small maps inspired by locations from around the globe; from a sun-soaked Egypt, to a Japan influenced map covered with sakura trees, to a bustling metropolitan city. Overwatch is playable at Blizzconn this year for lucky congoers with a beta being set for next year. No word on if the game will be a F2P game similar to Team Fortress 2. Rob's been gaming since he was a wee lad. It all started with a NES, and a Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt combo cart one Christmas morning. Since then, he's been an avid lover of all things video. He also likes comics, manga, movies, long walks on the beach, candlelit dinners and dogs. Rob is also quite adept at speaking in the third person.
