Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Reveal | DC FanDome
Rocksteady Studios looks to continue their Arkham Universe with the announcement of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League at DC FanDome. The last Rocksteady Arkham game released way back in 2015, and fans have been clamoring for a new entry ever since. The Arkham series, which was generally beloved by fans and critics alike, proved to be a pivotal moment for combat in 3rd-person action games. However, after three Batman-centric games by Rocksteady, the formula needed some refreshment, and thus, we have Suicide Squad.
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League features four familiar faces: Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark. Outside of King Shark, they are all relatively safe picks but are extremely diverse in their demeanor and skillset. It also makes sense considering they have all shown up recently in various forms of media for DC.
The one thing that was immediately apparent is the overall tone and color palette. It appears as zany and as goofy as you would expect when you toss a handful of misfits together and slam on some Outkast in the background for good measure. This 4-player cooperative romp is clearly going to be full of attitude, and that’s before the villains are even mentioned. In the trailer, we were shown a decrepit Metropolis in the hands of Brainiac. An evil-looking Superman, presumably being controlled by Brainiac, is the first huge villain we see. It’s unimaginable what these set-pieces will look like, and sadly we will have to wait for quite a while as the game has a release date of 2022 and is being developed for next-gen consoles and PC.
