It appears that the Ratchet & Clank franchise is taking over Spring 2016. Not only is the first feature-length film releasing during April, but a “re-imagining” of the first Ratchet and Clank title is set to release sometime during Spring. The title is essentially a completely redone Ratchet & Clank that is tightly based upon the first title in the franchise, but made for a modern audience in mind. James Stevenson, Community Lead at Insomniac Games, stated in his blogpost on The Official Playstation Blog that, “We ended up with a new game, with elements based on the original — but now with modern controls, several new planets, new and updated gameplay segments, all-new Clank gameplay, all new boss fights, new flight sequences, and more… all constructed to take advantage of the graphical prowess of PS4. Throw in James Arnold Taylor as Ratchet, and you have a new beginning.”Â
Hopefully you enjoyed the, dare I say it, Pixar-like quality of animation in the trailer as much as we did. The movie is slated to arrive on April 29, 2016; while the game is slated for Spring 2016.
