After the Battlefield V reveal a couple months ago and an alpha last month, Battlefield V has seen little in the way of any marketing. It’s a bit strange that information and gameplay segments have been few and far between, especially for a game that is going to have to claw its way to the top with a stacked October. Being flanked by Call of Duty and Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to be no easy task, nor is the sprinkling of other titles such as Super Mario Party and Assassins Creed Odyssey. Alas, EA has released their Gamescom trailer which you can see below.
The trailer, as most EA trailers are, is exhilarating and teases one aspect neither big fps publisher (the other being Activision) has been comfortable enough to show off completely… their battle royale mode. The fire slowly moving in towards the end of the trailer is a clear nod to the mode in which EA and Activision have teased, but have played close to the vest. The trailer also featured a couple sections of the map which was playable during the alpha earlier last month. The apparent battle royale teaser at the end shows a map in “ the sands of North Africa,†as detailed by the YouTube description.
Battlefield V is set to release on October 19th on PS4, Xbox One and PC via Origin.
