Borderlands has had quite the history since it first launched in October of 2009. From it’s visuals changes to its gameplay, loot, and RPG mechanics, Borderlands has become a major franchise in the action shooting genre and in today’s gaming industry. Even when faced with military combat shooters, like Activisions Call of Duty, Borderlands has distinguished itself with its humor, lore, science fiction, Â and some of the best co-op gameplay gaming could possibly ask for. Most recently, the series has made a big splash in its story and gameplay with the release of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Tales from the Borderlands: A TellTale Games Series.
Early this morning, Gearbox Software and 2K Games, the makers of the Borderlands franchise, dropped a big announcement with the release of Borderlands: The Handsome Collection. As one of the biggest requests by fans, Gearbox and 2K Games have taken Borderlands 2, one of the most celebrated sequels in game history, and the recently released Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, and have given them a full HD remastering. Both games will perform at the highest levels possible in visual and technical performance, as well as bring all the great gameplay mechanics and functions to the next gen. The collection also adds every DLC Add-On ever released for Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. Some extra feature include split-screen four-player couch co-op play with friends and the ability to take your save data on the PS3 and PS Vita and transfer them to the Handsome Collection.
This may not sound like a big deal but Borderlands 2 has over 40 DLC add-ons alone, with many of them being entire campaign extensions. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel has unannounced DLC that will also make its way to next-gen platforms as well. If there’s ever been an opportunity to get into this incredible science fiction action franchise, now is your chance and it shouldn’t be missed.
