Corsair debuted two PC gaming peripherals today at CES 2014, their Rapter K40 Gaming Keyboard and their Raptor M45 Gaming Mouse. The Raptor K40 is a highly color customizable keyboard which offers up to 16.8 million colors thanks to its RGB back-lighting while priced for most consumer budgets. On the other hand, the Raptor M45 gaming mouse is the highest resolution (5000 DPI) optical gaming mouse on the market that succeeds the Raptor M40.
“The keyboard and mouse can make the difference between winning and losing a game. That’s why Corsair’s Raptor series of gaming products are designed from the ground up to deliver pure performance with no unnecessary frills. Every feature, component, and material is carefully selected and engineered to provide a best-in-class gaming experience.†– Jason Christian, Corsair PC gaming product manager.

Raptor M45 Gaming Mouse
Featuring a lighter, more agile variant of the ergonomic chassis as Corsair’s award-winning M65 and M60 mice, the Raptor M45 is a serious high-peformance optical mouse for serious gamers. The mouse features a powerful gaming-tuned Pixart PMW3310 5000 DPI optical sensor, fast response time, large PTFE glide pads, high-mass scroll wheel all housed in comfortable right-handed design with a textured, soft-touch surface. The Raptor M45 also has an adjustable weight system and 7 programmable buttons with macros and for critical gaming functions. Plus, the M45 has instant DPI switches to allow gamers to swiftly toggle between high sensor resolution for fast motion, and low resolution for super-accurate aiming.
Although I don’t actually own a gaming keyboard or mouse I found my experiences with Corsair gaming PC peripherals to be much more enjoyable than my standard PC and mouse at home. The entry level for most feature rich gaming keyboards are usually out of my budget but these look a little more interesting as they will be available for $79.99 and $59.99, not to mention it is backed by a 2 year warranty. I’m quite sure most moderate PC gamers like myself appreciate cheaper priced but quality accessories from the industry.
