Star Wars Battlefront 2 looks to right all the wrongs that were glaringly present in its predecessor. From a cursory glance, Battlefront looked to be the Star Wars game we’ve been waiting for for so long, but after scratching the surface it was easy to realize depth it had not. A shallow base game, zero signs of even tangentially related single player content, all supplanted with a season pass did little to keep the player base engaged and intact. Thankfully, EA appears to have done a 180 with  Star Wars Battlefront 2. There will be no season pass, free seasonal updates, a full canon story that’s not restricted to one specific era and the ability to play characters across three generations; that is including the first free update which comes with the following as per the official Star Wars Battlefront 2 site:
“There are also going to be Seasons, the Star Warsâ„¢: The Last Jediâ„¢ Season coming this December, where all Star Wars Battlefront II players will get access to Finn, Captain Phasma, the new planet Crait, and more.â€
It may have been a bitter pill to swallow for the first title, but it appears that EA has done right by longtime fans of the franchise. However, the proof is in the pudding, so we will have to wait and see people’s opinions after they get some hands-on time. In the meantime, check out the sweet “Gameplay†trailer for Star Wars Battlefront 2.
