Sony will have a conference Wednesday from 11am to Noon PST in regards to developing for PS4. The presentation will discuss the technology from a development standpoint as well as from the design side; we can certainly expect to hear about PS4’s 8GB of unified GDDR5 memory and other computing capabilities. Chris Norden will be the speaker for this event. He has a deep knowledge of gaming development, having worked at companies such as Origin Systems, Looking Glass Technologies, Ion Storm, Aspyr Media, and more over the past 19 years.
Sony mentions that the PS4 will be discussed from a “design” perspective; this shouldn’t be taken out of context. It will likely go in-depth about the console’s underlying architechture rather than its physical appearance.
Learning more about the possibilities gaming developers have will give us insight of what to expect from the next generation of PlayStation. Exciting!
An additional PS VITA development presentation will take place Thursday from 10am to 11am PST; Glyne is a bit of a Vita enthusiast, he would want to check this out.
Same day as DICE BF4 reveal? Interesting.
