The other big title revealed at last year’s FanDome made an appearance this year. It is none other than Gotham Knights. The game focuses on the entire bat family. You’ll play as one of the bat members: Nightwing, Damian Wayne, Red Hood and Batgirl. A bit different than the Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, in this game you’ll play either solo or cooperative. In Suicide Squad, you are teaming up with up to four people.
The Court of Owls will be the main antagonist of the game, and with it comes a horror-ilke vibe. The Court, brought to life in the New 52 comic run in 2011, are the Gotham elite that control the mechanisms of Gotham. I absolutely love the horror vibe they are taking with the game. It really pulls you into The Court and all their machinations.
Similar to Suicide Squad, we didn’t get any gameplay, which was a bummer. Having been revealed with a bit of gameplay last year, I’d hope we would have gotten a blow-out of information. COVID certainly took a toll on nearly all entertainment, so we will have to suffice with a vague 2022 date.
It is likely that either this game or Suicide Squad will be pushed to 2023. The games are similar enough that it wouldn’t make sense to allow them to cannibalize sales from one another.
