The NHL season is quickly approaching and EA Sports has finally released the first few clips of direct feed gameplay footage for NHL 15. The footage, the first video showcases the new camera modes (Dynamic low, medium and high), while the second one focuses on the new skill stick and true hockey physics, does a decent job of showing off the new features. Having said that, graphics-wise, the videos don’t scream next-gen. They do look good, but don’t give you that, “wow this is next gen!†feeling. But, one aspect that finally hits the nail on the head is the presentation. Finally, a sports game has the television like feel, minus the commercials of course. Luckily, PS4 and Xbox One users can download the NHL 15 demo on August 26 to try their hand at NHL 15.
Similar to the other NHL demos, you can play as the latest years Stanley Cup matchup between the New York Rangers and The Stanley Cup Champion LAos Angeles Kings. You can play a full three-period game, with periods consisting of two minutes each. Conversely, you have the ability to try your hand at the new superstar stick in practice mode which pits you skating solo against a goalie, like in years past.
I also had the opportunity to play two-periods of the game at E3, you can check out what I thought here.
Check out the two gameplay clips below and let us know what you think.
NHl 15 is being developed by EA Sports, published by EA, will be released on September 9, 2014 for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
