On Saturday, October 5, Chevy and ReedPOP will launch theÂ â€œNew York Comic Con King of the Roadâ€Â challenge to kick-off the beginning of this yearâ€™s New York Comic Con – one of the worldâ€™s preeminent pop culture extravaganzas. The challenge will customize four Chevy Sonics with image wraps showcasing iconic characters and images from some of the comic book industryâ€™s top publishers â€“ BOOM! Studios, Dark Horse Comics, Image and Valiant.
The exclusive New York Comic Con cars will travel the Tri-State area on a scavenger hunt pitting the publishers against one another for the chance to be crowned the ultimate â€˜New York Comic Con King of the Roadâ€™. Throughout the challenge, each car will make scheduled stops at Â comic book retailers and other locations with every move documented through social media channels and on the Chevy and New York Comic Con websites. It will culminate with an event on Tuesday, October 8th in Manhattan.
â€œWeâ€™re bringing New York Comic Con on the road, so even for those who didnâ€™t get tickets in time thereâ€™s an opportunity to see some of the magic in person,â€ said Lance Fensterman, Global Vice President of ReedPOP. â€œWeâ€™re thrilled that Chevy teamed up with these fantastic publishers for this type of campaign and couldnâ€™t think of a better way to kick off the show.â€
