Supergirl kicked off the DC TV week on the CW with a four episode crossover event. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see much other than The Flash and Vibe coming in at the very end. Thankfully, Supergirl still delivered a great episode. Cadmus just won’t go away, and now they have a biological weapon that targets only aliens. Cadmus plans to disburse it and rid the planet of aliens once and for all.

I really liked that we got to see the friends and family of Supergirl around the table for Thanksgiving. Kara must have been riding a high after all of the praise from her friends. Everyone was thankful for Kara, mostly because they wanted to reveal something. Alex wanted to come out to her mother, and James and Winn wanted to tell Kara about The Guardian. Mon-El buts in to tell Kara that he’s the luckiest guy in the world that she found him. It’s obvious to just about everyone but Kara that Mon-El has a crush on her. They all fight for attention until a breach appears over their table.

Later, Mon-El is at the alien bar, where he sees J’onn. Of course, it’s not J’onn; it’s Hank Henshaw aka Cyborg Superman. Mon-El follows him out of the bar, where they end up fighting. Inside the bar, Hank let out a vicious gas that killed all aliens inside the bar. Mon-El went back in the bar to try and help, but it was too late. And now, he has been exposed to the toxin. At the DEO, they lock him up as a precaution. Kara asks point blank if Mon-El has a crush on her, but he can tell that she’s not feeling the same. So, he lies. All of a sudden, Mon-El’s condition worsens. The virus isn’t transmittable, so Kara doesn’t get infected when she goes breaks into his cell to help. But, without a cure, Mon-El will eventually die from the virus.

The DEO brings in Eliza Danvers to help analyze the virus. She is certain that it is a Kryptonian made virus. Kara realizes now why Cadmus wanted her blood, to gain access to the Fortress of Solitude. When Kara asks the hologram of her father about Project Medusa, she learned a shocking secret. Kara’s father had a hand in making the virus to attack all aliens that are not Kryptonian in case there was ever an invasion on Krypton. Kara is hurt by the news and can’t believe that her father would have a hand in such a deadly weapon.

Speaking of parents, Lena Luthor has some interesting interactions with her mother Lillian. Lena tries to warn her mother that a reporter, Kara, is snooping around. Lena and her mother have a strained relationship, mostly because Lena is adopted. Lillian even admits to loving Lex more, saying that no parent loves their children equally. Even if you feel that way, maybe you shouldn’t admit it to your daughter.

In order for Cadmus to disperse the virus, they need a mechanism that only L Corp has. Once Lena finally realizes that Lillian is the head of Cadmus, she says that her mother only had to ask for the device. Now, Cadmus has everything they need to set loose the virus. Kara is disappointed that Lena would just blindly join Cadmus, but there’s no time. The virus must be stopped. Cadmus had a fail safe that assured the virus would be dispersed. When nothing happens, Lena shows her hand. Not only did she make the virus inert, but she called the police on her mother.

Thanks to Eliza, Mon-El is able to get a cure and will soon be better. When Mon-El was dying, he told Kara how beautiful she is and kissed her. She seemed to kiss him back, so maybe it wasn’t such a bad idea. Once he was cured, Kara asked if he wanted to talk about what happened. Mon-El claimed he had no idea what she was talking about, and Kara decided not to fill him in. I’m not sure if Mon-El is being honest when he says he doesn’t remember. Who wants to see Kara and Mon-El together? Could we finally see Kara in a happy and healthy relationship?

Alex decided to come out to her mom. She was so worried that she would disappoint her mom. Eliza reminds her that she will always love Alex no matter what. Eliza would never be disappointed in her daughter for being different. Alex finally starts to feel comfortable with herself and that being gay is her new normal. She thanks Maggie for helping her be happy and that coming out wasn’t about Maggie. It was about Alex living her life the way she was meant to. After Maggie’s run in with Cyborg Superman, she realizes that life is just too short. She goes to see Alex, and they have their first kiss.
