Sony has officially revealed a project that was long reported by a source of ours, PS4’s virtual reality headset dubbed Project Morpheus. Project Morpheus is a response to Oculus Rift (if you will) touting an integrated 1080p display, a 90 degree field of view angle, 3D audio technology and a ton more. Project Morpheus is compatible with your DualShock 4 and PlayStation Move controller for a PnP (plug ‘n play) experience while the PlayStation Camera supplements the already built in gyro and accelerator capabilities of Project Morpheus by tacking on head-tracking. If Morpheus can’t track you in a room laced with video game peripherals like these, I don’t know what will. Sony has reportedly been working on Project Morpheus for three plus years; this week at GDC, attendees will be able to play with it hands-on for the first time. These are the games you’ll be trying it out on: The Deep (evade dangerous sea creatures), The Castle, EVE Valkyrie, and Thief.
