It sure would be a shame if this was really the end of The Blacklist: Redemption. Everything came to a head in “Whitehall: Conclusion.†By the end of the episode, it is clear where allegiances lie, and we get the truth about Howard and Scottie.
After Howard’s press conference, Halcyon calls a board meeting. Scottie works to make sure that the board is on her side, by giving a few not so subtle nudges. Howard shows up, and the board votes to keep Scottie as the head of Halcyon. Howard doesn’t seem upset, since that wasn’t really why he was there. Howard only used the board as a distraction
Nez and Tom have infiltrated Halcyon and are working to rescue Whitehall. Scottie and Solomon work to get to Whitehall first. When they do, they end up locking themselves in the sub-basement. Howard’s team is coming in; it’s only a matter of time. When Tom and Nez catch up to them, Whitehall runs to their sides… that’s interesting. While Howard focuses on Whitehall, Tom focuses on Scottie.
Howard wants Whitehall to talk to the Halcyon board. Whitehall explains that he was abducted by Scottie, and he’s not working with Howard. He wants to use his invention for a smarter world, but Halcyon only wants to use it for evil. Long ago, Howard convinced Scottie that they couldn’t let quantum computing fall into the wrong hands; he was concerned that it would ensure human extinction. Now, Howard has Whitehall. What is their plan, exactly?
Scottie knows that something is wrong when she finds a string of strange financials in Halcyon’s budget. By following the money, Scottie finds a lab that is making a prototype of Whitehall’s invention. She fell right into a frame up. The lab has work orders signed by Scottie, but she has no idea what they’re talking about. When Tom catches up with her, Scottie tries to explain herself. Tom wants her to go to the FBI; if she’s really being set up, they can prove it. Scottie gets taken in, but is there any way to prove her innocence?
Scottie’s assistant, Cat, ends up going to see Trevor. She realizes that he’s the one who has been making payments to the lab. He was only using Cat to break into her computer. When she figures it out, Trevor fights back. He stabs Cat twice, but she takes care of him in the end, survival of the fittest it would seem. Trevor was working with Howard the whole time. Cat barely makes it to Tom to give him proof of his father’s betrayal before collapsing in his apartment. It looks like Scottie was telling the truth the whole time. She was completely innocent and didn’t want Howard to get his hands on Whitehall.
