The indie takeover continues. Playstation 4 retail games are quite scarce sans a game here and there, but one thing that has remained constant is indie support. First, we had the adventure puzzler Contrast; shortly after, Don’t Starve found asylum on the platform. Most recently, Outlast creeped its way onto our consoles; this time around we have something just as unique as previous offerings and even more so critically acclaimed.
The Swapper is a side-scrolling puzzle platformer that takes place on a damaged spaceship. The only means of survival is finding your way through various intricate puzzle. To help you escape, you’ll find a cloning device that allows you to create up to four clones and swap between them, given they are in your line-of-site. The unique twist in the game is that when you move one character you move them all, which creates some pretty interesting puzzles. Check out some footage below, and let us know what you think.
The Swapper was developed by Facepalm Games, and the port to Sony platforms will be handled by Curve Studios. The Swapper is set to release sometime in May 2014 on PS3, PS4 and Vita.
