Microsoft told us earlier this year that all Xbox Ones can be used to make games. Although that functionality isn’t completely ready yet, thanks to LiamHing on Reddit you can currently acess some of the Xbox One’s developer kit features right now! Please note that some of these features can brick your console and Dual Pixels is not responsible for anything that happens to your console.
To access these developer features go to your Xbox One’s home menu. In order, press the left bumper, right bumper, left trigger, and right trigger. You will appear at a system menu. go over to developer settings, and then you will see… developer settings. There were be a check box that says “Enable devkit”. And there you have it! But before you do anything, please read a message from your friendly, local but not really, corporate gaming company, Microsoft.
“Changing the settings in this menu is only intended for developers for Xbox One, and this alone does not turn the console into a development kit. We strongly advise consumers against changing these settings as it could result in their Xbox One becoming unusable. Customers who have put their consoles into this developer setting can revert by restoring factory defaults under Settings / System, select Restore Factory Defaults.”
