Sony San Diego Studio has revealed their cover athlete this year showing off the new face of Baseball Fernando “El Nino” Tatis Jr of the San Diego Padres. Tatis, Jr. is among a wave of second-generation baseball stars being the son of former St. Louis and New York Mets third baseman Fernando Tatis MLB® The Show™ 21 will be the first MLB title made by Sony PlayStation Studios that will release on the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. While it’s releasing on multi-platforms this year, players will be able to Cross-Play with each other becoming the first sports title that allows you to Cross-Play from PlayStation and Xbox. Another big treat for players is Cross Progression, the ability to earn and use the content on whichever system or generation you choose.
MLB® The Show™ 21 releases April 20, 2021. The Standard Edition on current-gen consoles is $59.99 USD/$79.99 CAD/£59.99 GBP/€69.99 EUR MSRP, and on next-gen consoles is $69.99 USD/$89.99 CAD/£69.99 GBP/€79.99 EUR MSRP. The PlayStation Standard Edition includes The Game, and DLC item: 5,000 Stubs. The PlayStation Next-Gen Standard Edition gives you a bit more it includes The Game, DLC item: 5,000 Stubs, and 10 The Show Packs. Currently, there is no upgrade path from current-gen to next-gen editions.
