If there were ever a franchise that absolutely nailed their pre-release hype, it’s the Doom guys over at id Software and Bethesda Softworks. The second Doom Eternal trailer puts its foot down and showcases why Doom will stand out in the bloodbath that is the first half of 2020. Â
A rocking soundtrack? Check. Tons of blood? Indeed. Death pretty much everywhere? You bet! Decapitations and amputations throughout? Hell yes.
Check out the trailer below.
As much as Doom is about killing things in the most gruesome, gory ways possible, this trailer has also set up a semblance of a plot. Taking place shortly after the first game…the 2016 reboot…Doomguy has to rid the earth of demons (including angels?) which have invaded it.
As aptly said in the trailer, “Saving your people will not bring you peace.” True, but judging by the past game and this trailer, it’s certainly going to be fun.
Doom Eternal releases March 20, 2020 on PS4, XBOX One and PC. A variety of editions can be seen here: Pre-order editions
There have been no updates on the Switch version’s release date.
