Dark Souls veterans and newcomers alike will surely be flocking to the next-gen release of Dark Souls II as the updates are massive. Rereleases/Remasters tend to be pretty middle of the road, things look better and run a bit better, but the price point doesn’t usually urge you to double dip. But, Dark Souls II: Scholar of The First Sin is coming to PS4 with those magical numbers. 1080p60fps. Not only is the game seeing a sizeable upgrade in its performance, it will also include all expansions already released on the Dark Souls II PS3 version (Crown of the Sunken King, Crown of the Old Iron King, and Crown of the Ivory King), along with some changes to keep those veterans on their toes. FromSoftware is changing locations of certain enemies and items to keep the gameplay as fresh as possible and fog gates can no longer stop the enemies pursuit.
Whether you’ve logged hundreds of hours in Dark Souls II, or none at all, it’s safe to say that this is how rereleases should be done going forward. A meaty performance upgrade, all expansion packs and gameplay adjustments will make you want to die, die and die again in Dark Souls II: Scholar of The First Sin.
Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin is set to release on Apr 7, 2015 on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
