Forza Horizon 5 is indeed going to Mexico, and it looks stunning. Playground Games spent their extended look showcasing all sorts of areas we will be exploring in Mexico. In the extended walkthrough, which can be seen below, we get to see deserts, jungles, cities, ruins and more. It was also explained that we will be getting the highest location ever in a Forza game. Quite clearly putting that SSD to work with the insane draw distance.
Forza Horizon has always had a beautiful art style, but Playground is upping that even further. From their Xbox Wire post:
“Our Mexican HDR sky captures illuminate the world to the point that you will feel as if you are right there. And thanks to Xbox Series X|S, ray tracing is utilized in Forzavista to make the cars look even more true to real life.”
The locations and cars look beautiful, and Forza appears to be one of the first games to really take advantage of the new hardware. The way the demo was cut, it was legitimately hard to tell photography vs gameplay. Surely a slick editing technique, but it looks great nonetheless.
Forza Horizon 5 is releasing on November 9th and Game Pass subscribers will receive the standard edition of the game.
