This week, Lucifer is trying to explore his mortality in “Sweet Kicks.” Much to Mazikeen’s dismay, Lucifer is thrilled by his newfound vulnerability. She tries to keep him away from sharp objects, but Lucifer is excited that things can hurt him. She asks the question on all of our minds, “Since when does the devil care about mortality?”

Leave it to Lucifer to keep finding a way into Chloe’s life, especially as a consultant on her cases. Lucifer and Mazikeen go to a fashion show debuting a new line of shoes from a designer named Benny. Naturally, Lucifer is the secret reason behind Benny’s success. Lucifer did Benny a favor to help him get ahead in the fashion industry, and now, Lucifer is about to call in his favor. During the fashion show, shots are fired into the crowd, and a young woman is trampled to death.

Back at the precinct, Lucifer is waiting for Chloe at her desk; just when she thinks she is done with him. Chloe’s ex, Dan, is worried that Lucifer is going to continue to put her in harm’s way. It seems that won’t be changing anytime soon. Lucifer tells Chloe that he’s actually there to see her boss. He talks to her lieutenant and says that he wants in on the action. He wants to explore his mortality. She’s pretty confused and says, “exploring mortality is not really what I do here.” Lucifer asks what she really wants, and she confesses that she wants to be the first female Chief of Police. Lucifer offers to do her a favor to get her the job. All Lucifer wants in return is to work with Chloe on her cases.

Of course, the lieutenant is charmed by Lucifer, and tells Chloe, “You’re welcome, Decker.” She truly thinks she’s doing Chloe a favor. And while Chloe is so annoyed by Lucifer, I think he also challenges her, even if she would never admit to that. Now, they are on the case together. Since Lucifer has a good relationship with Benny, he takes Chloe to see him. Benny doesn’t want to talk to cops, so Lucifer calls in his favor. He asks Benny to answer all of Chloe’s questions.

Lucifer is very excited when they find out that gangs might be involved in the case. He says, “That’s what makes this case so exciting… real danger.” Eventually the case led Lucifer and Chloe to an old friend of Benny’s, the Yellow Viper. Viper was a fellow artist and was arrested for a crime that Benny committed, the same crime that Lucifer got Benny out of so that he could become a famous artist. During a stand-off between a couple of gangs, Lucifer and Chloe find themselves in the cross hairs of some very dangerous people. Thankfully, Mazikeen comes and takes out all of the gang members. Maiz says that she’s always going to be there to protect Lucifer.

Well, it turns out that the chaos was completely fabricated. Neither the gang nor the Viper were after Benny. The Viper made a great point when he said that if he were to try and shoot Benny, Benny would be dead. This finally sinks in with Chloe. She realizes that you would either have to be the worst shot or the best shot to shoot in a crowd and not actually hit anyone. Benny staged the entire thing, making his former Marine bodyguard do all of the dirty work. Benny was too afraid that with Viper out of prison, he would be big competition for Benny.

At the end, Chloe relents and finally agrees that they are partners. Lucifer is an official consultant for the LAPD. She did royally hurt Lucifer’s feelings when she said that he has a God Complex. Chloe can’t seem to understand Lucifer’s motivation. She’s worried that he’s only focused on punishing people whether or not they deserve the punishment. Clearly, these two have to work through some more feelings together. And will we ever figure out what makes Chloe special and insusceptible to Lucifer’s charms?

During their case, Lucifer tries to get Chloe to open up more. He calls her the youngest old person he’s met. They go to a cop bar, and the other cops really seem to hate her. When one of them calls Chloe a bitch, Lucifer punches him. While Lucifer is having fun with Chloe, Mazikeen meet with Amenadiel in a coffee shop. She is ready to go back to hell, but there’s no way Lucifer will go. Mazikeen lets Amenadiel know that Lucifer has been talking to Linda. Amenadiel poses as a fellow shrink and tells Linda that they can confide in one another over patients. I hope Lucifer catches Amenadiel before he does any damage to his relationship with Linda.

WHAT IS DUAL PIXELS?

Dual Pixels is more than just an organization, it's a culture. The interactive arts are our passion, this includes gaming and innovations brought forward with technology. The beauty of being an independent organization is the fact that we have the opportunity to bring back the enthusiasm in a gaming industry which is becoming increasingly corporate and stale. The Dual Pixels brand is full of perspective hence the reason why we also go by the appellation "The Digital Crossover".
