The Arrow team made the mistake of thinking that they had won, and it cost them all. Now, it’s a race against time to try and outsmart Chase, which hasn’t gone so well thus far.
Everything is looking up for the Arrow team. Prometheus is behind bars, at the hands of the Green Arrow, which makes him a hero again. The mayor’s approval is at 70{3a19833c997fa52158a43c449fe089ff048ac0506a335cac10721cfa396ff282}, and it’s Oliver’s birthday. Oliver has a date with Felicity, which turned out to be a sweet surprise party. Felicity even ordered a Green Arrow cake for the occasion. Rene and Dinah didn’t make the party, and Quentin is worried when he sees piled up newspapers outside of Rene’s door. Anyone else wonder why Rene gets newspapers? When Curtis goes to see Dinah, she’s not home, and her house has been robbed. Curtis is taken as well.
Thea and Quentin are taken to a safe house, but Oliver wants to keep Felicity close. When the safe house is attacked by Black Siren, Oliver realizes that he needs to get Felicity and Diggle out of the city. He tells them to leave, and they both have a bad feeling. I feel like this is one of those times where you should keep them in the Arrow cave. Aren’t they more vulnerable if they are trying to travel out of the city? The answer is yes. Felicity and Diggle are taken by a bunch of League of Assassins members.

Well it looks like Oliver played right into Chase’s hands. Now, Oliver just has to let Chase go, or all of his loved ones die. Oliver calls Chase’s bluff until he gets a video of his son, William. Chase got to everyone. Now, Oliver works with Malcolm Merlyn to save everyone he loves. He’s even smart enough to call in some reinforcements. Malcolm may not be happy about it, but I’m sure glad to see Nissa resurface. How will she feel about the family reunion? Her sister, Talia, is working with Chase after all.
When Oliver tracks Chase’s plane, he sees exactly where Chase is going. Chase is headed straight for Lian Yu. He brought all of Team Arrow there, but we still don’t see Rene or Dinah. Are they there as well? William is also being held somewhere else, but Oliver, Nissa, and Malcolm are on their way. I’m excited for the showdown in the season finale. Plus, Oliver finally did something that Chase probably won’t see coming. Oliver asks for help is the strangest of places, from Deathstroke himself, Slade Wilson. Isn’t it great that he’s already on Lian Yu?

The flashback this week continued with Oliver on Lian Yu with Konstantin Kovar. Kovar is using a drug on Oliver called the Red Death. It’s psychological torture. At first, Kovar touches every one of Oliver’s scars forcing him to relive the pain as if it’s happening all over again. Kovar is looking to break Oliver. He gives Oliver a gun with one bullet in it. He tells Oliver he could waste the bullet killing Kovar or he could put himself out of his misery and end the person who is really responsible for his pain.
During Oliver’s trip, he sees Yao Fei, who tells Oliver that those closest to him are fated to suffer for his sins. He tells Oliver to make the same sacrifice that he made in order to save his loved ones. Just as Oliver is beginning to break, he sees Laurel. Laurel brings him back by telling him that they all love him and need him to come home. She reminds Oliver that if he doesn’t get home, his father and Sara would have died for nothing. Oliver uses the one bullet to break out of his cell. It looks like we may finally get to the point of seeing all of Oliver’s five years in hell.
