Just before the folks over at CD Projekt RED sent out a post about The Witcher 3 being delayed, Damien Monnier Senior Game Designer, revealed The Elder Blood Trailer and info that we will play as a character other than Geralt at some time during The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. Ciri is the daughter of Pavetta, the princess of Cintra, and count Danya, heir to Nilfgaard Empire. Similar to Geralt, Ciri is trying to outrun The Wild Hunt.
This is such a departure from the previous two games. I would say it’s similar to how we were given lengthy Raiden chapters in MGS2. While many didn’t enjoy the Raiden sections, it was nice to hear about the overall story through a different character’s point of view. Ciri, having various different abilities than Geralt, such as the Blink ability as shown in The Elder Blood trailer; should provide a nice change of combat in the vast world of The Witcher.
