Capcom has given us more details and a in-depth look in the Resident Evil Village during their Resident Evil Village Showcase. Resident Evil Village follows the story of Ethan Winters which starred in Resident Evil 7 Biohazard. Shown off today was a new diverse cast of main enemies that will be appearing and showing up at every unexpected turn.
The daughters of Lady Dimitrescu’s, which is the tall vampire shown in the trailer, who can transform into swarms of insects. Ethan will now able to purchase and will now be able to purchase and sell items, buy recipes for crafting, and customize weapons with a merchant called The Duke, very similar to Resident Evil 4. You can scavenge the village finding material to then be used to create consumables needed to survive the terrors of the village. Also added is Ethan’s new Kick move which can create space, buying you extra time to decide your next move.
You can experience a taste of Resident Evil Village now with the demo that was announced titled ‘Maiden’. This is a stand alone title which showcases the stunning visuals and 3D audio in the main game. Resident Evil Village Maiden Demo is exclusively on PlayStation 5 and can be downloaded on the PlayStation Store. Also shown off in the showcase is the multiplayer experience Resident Evil Re:Verse which celebrates the franchise 25th anniversary, is included when purchasing Resident Evil Village. Pre-orders for Resident Evil Village start today, with options for digital and physical Standard and Deluxe Editions and a physical Collector’s Edition.
The Deluxe Edition includes the base game and a digital “Trauma Pack,” which consists of additional in-game content including a Samurai Edge weapon, Resident Evil 7 biohazard inspired found footage screen filter and tape recorder save point options, immediate access to an especially challenging difficulty setting, and more. The physical Collector’s Edition includes the digital Deluxe Edition content plus a striking statue of franchise veteran Chris Redfield, a SteelBook case, art book, and a cloth map of the village with key art printed on the reverse side. Resident Evil Village launches May 7, 2021 on PlayStation® 5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam, alongside the newly revealed PlayStation® 4 and Xbox One platform options. Resident Evil Village eligible to upgrade from PlayStation 4 to the digital PlayStation 5 version and will support Smart Delivery for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles.
