Well, it’s about time that dual-core processing and HD was brought to the Windows Phone lineup, and who better than Samsung to be the ones doing it!
Today Samsung pulled back the curtain to reveal the Samsung Ativ S, the worlds first smartphone running Windows Phone 8. The Ativ S has a slim design, a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display, and a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor. It also is compatible with HSPA+42.
The Ativ S has a rear-facing 8-megapixel camera with an LED flash and 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera. On top of the new software, there is a microSD card and NFC support (payment or file-sharing?). Samsung also included a monster 2,300 mAh battery that will give longer battery life. It will be come in 16GB and 32GB versions, will have 1GB of RAM, and will be packaged with Samsung apps such as Music Hub or Media Hub.
