Lucifer’s world is turned upside down in “Homewrecker.†Linda tries to help Lucifer see why he calls Los Angeles his home. Meanwhile, when the owner of Lux is murdered, his son is hell bent on evicting Lucifer as soon as possible, and Lucifer is not about to let his home be taken from him.
Lucifer tries to show Amenadiel around LA, so it can feel like home to him as well. Amenadiel isn’t having it, and he’s ready to return to Heaven with their mother in tow. Linda asks Lucifer to thinks about why he has found LA to be his home. She reminds Lucifer that this is his first home; he never had a home in Heaven or in Hell. Linda says that people make Los Angeles their home for two reasons; they are either running from something, or looking for something.
At their latest crime scene, Lucifer recognizes the murder victim as Dean Cooper, real estate tycoon. Dean Cooper owns the block where Lux resides. Lucifer had to strike a serious deal to get his lease. Now, Cooper’s son, Eric, is the new owner and is immediately evicting Lucifer. Eric doesn’t seem to be budging, even when Lucifer tries to strike a new deal.

It turns out that Eric Cooper’s prints were on the murder weapon, but when Lucifer and Chloe go to see him, he jumps from the balcony of his building. Eric was badly injured but alive, and Chloe and Lucifer question him. He reveals that the Coopers are broke. A buyer, Eleanor Bloom, has wanted to buy that strip, but Dean Cooper wouldn’t sell. So, upon his death, Eric didn’t waste any time selling the property. Both Eric and his fiancée confess to killing Dean Cooper, so who knows how those trials will go.
Lucifer believes that there must be some deal that he can make with Eleanor to keep Lux, but she isn’t going to budge. She wants everything that Dean Cooper had, and she wants to destroy it all and rebuild. She sends movers to Lux, but Lucifer knows how to distract them long enough to find a solution. Lucifer throws a raucous sit in filled with beautiful people and plenty of alcohol.
At the sit in, Charlotte gets to meet Linda for the first time. Linda is awed by Charlotte and actually thanks her for “all of this.†If only Linda knew how Charlotte felt about humans. Charlotte thanks Linda for taking such good care of Lucifer, but Linda isn’t stupid. Charlotte is prodding, and Linda isn’t about to disclose anything from their sessions. What she didn’t keep secret is how Lucifer feels about Chloe. Chloe came to the sit in to show her support and keep the cops off of the club’s back for another day. Lucifer convinces her to dance with him, and they have a really sweet moment.

After losing hope about saving Lux, Lucifer decides to give up. He sends everyone home and takes some time to say goodbye to Lux. Chloe comes by, and he tells her that he can just rebuild Lux somewhere else. It turns out that Chloe has some good news. She pulled some strings and found a way for Lucifer to keep Lux. Lux has been named a heritage site by LA County. Lux is protected and can’t be demolished.
Lucifer is so touched that Chloe would do something like this for him without him even having to ask. She explains that this is what friends do, so Lucifer asks her to dinner. It doesn’t seem like he really wants it to be a date, just a nice dinner between friends. Lucifer talks to Linda, and she asks why Lucifer won’t tell Chloe the truth. He’s clearly afraid of how she might react because he cares what she thinks. Linda wonders if he came to LA to look for something but has stopped because he found what he was looking for. This freaked Lucifer out so badly that he actually stood Chloe up at the restaurant.
Maze is the only one who is still suspicious of Charlotte. Lucifer and Amenadiel believe her at her word, that she just wants her family to be together. That may be the case but at what cost? While Charlotte had nothing to do with Dean Cooper’s death, she sees an opportunity. She uses her lawyer connection to speak with an explosives expert for the mob. She thinks that if she blows up Lux, then that will be one less thing tying Lucifer to LA. After the sit in, Charlotte realizes that if she could just get rid of Chloe, Lucifer wouldn’t have anything else worthwhile in LA.
