Spider-Man Remastered and Miles Morales coming to PC is going to be a huge draw. A week or so ago Sony came out with a presentation that gave a peek into their strategy for the upcoming year and one thing really stood out. Mainly, how in the world are they going to increase their PC revenue by that much with not a single known game coming over to PC? Well, we have our answer.
Spider-Man is a behemoth when it comes to marketing power. He is always ranked at or near the top spot, with the likes of Batman and Superman. Insomniac’s sublime original game and Miles Morales tie-in boosted that into another stratosphere. It not only looked stunning but featured some of the best web-swinging and combat we’ve ever seen from a Spidey game. In the blog post discussing Spider-Man Remastered and Miles Morales coming to PC, Sony announced that the Spider-Man games have collectively sold over 33 million copies worldwide.
Rumors were floating around that both Sack Boy and Returnal were the next games to make the PlayStation to PC transition, but Spidey swooped in and will be taking that mantle in August.
Let’s take a look at PC sales from Sony properties from Sony’s recent briefing:

As you can see in the screenshot above, the three titles that have been ported have added $108.9 million in revenue since FY20. If we look at the most recent port (God of War) it added $26.2 million by itself. While being a huge fan of the God of War reboot, I think Spider-Man and MIles Morales should easily trounce it. I’d bet that Spider-Man will outpace GoW and hit one million units sold within two months… if that.
With its brand power and a friendly release timing (missing the heavy hitter in the holiday) for Spider-Man (Miles is coming a bit later in the fall), Spider-Man is looking like the ace up Sony’s sleeve.
Spider-Man Remastered is set to launch for PC on August 12, 2022.
Miles Morales was only given a Fall 2022 release date.
