A wise man once said there are only two things certain in life, death and taxes. Well, we have to add a third to that because Bandai Namco has guaranteed a release date for Slightly Mad Studios racing sim. Project CARS, the crowdfunded racing sim, has taken a couple detours en route to its eventual release. But, the the title finally has an actual release date! Project CARS will release on Friday May 8 on P4, Xbox One and PC. Judging solely by screenshots and release images, Slightly Mad Studios has created one of the most beautiful racers to date. Check out the plethora of images below.

For the more aspiring racers, Slightly Mad Studios has also revealed which steering wheel setups are supported. By the looks of it, it appears PC and PS4 players have the best options as per what setup they choose. Note that this list isn’t final as per Slightly Mad Studios.

For those purchasing the title on PC, the min. and rec. specs for Project CARS are as follows:

Minimum
CPU: 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400, 3.0 GHz AMD Phenom II X4 940
GPU: Nvidia GTX 260, ATI Radeon HD 5770
