Video games aren’t all that represented at San Diego Comic Con. It’s a bit of an oddity that there isn’t more video gaming representation, but one of the mainstays is Capcom. They always bring a booth with some great talent since their properties have a nice crossover to comics. This year, they are bringing Street Fighter 6, Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak, Capcom Arcade 2nd Edition as well as having a couple of panels TBD.
Street Fighter 6 with Their First Public Hands-on Demo in North America
After having been revealed during Sony’s recent State of Play, SF6 is gracing con attendees with some hands-on gameplay. Attendees will get to play as Luke, Jamie Ryu and Chun-li against the CPU or another player.
This is a huge surprise for Street Fighter fans. With the game set to release in 2023, getting a hands-on this early is such a treat. Attendees will get to test out the new “Drive-System” and “Real Time Commentator Feature” which are making their debut with SF6. Having been nearly six years since SF5, the Capcom booth is sure to be packed with fans lining up to try out their latest fighter.
Some additional details surrounding the booth, provided by the Capcom blog post include:
- A photo op where you can watch live creation of digital graffiti
- A Hadoken photo op
- A Chun-Li Lightning kick photo op
- A developer panel giving a deep dive into revealed character and more for SF6
If you are attending SDCC, you can find Capcom at Booth#215. Be sure to arrival early and be prepared to wait in a line… it is Comic Con after all!
Get a Taste of Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak
The recently released title in Capcom’s longstanding monster hunting game is playable at SDCC. Capcom specially tuned a more advanced fight for con attendees. The info from their blog explained that, “if you’re looking for a big challenge, try battling Sunbreak’s flagship monster Malzeno in a super tough advanced quest! Remember, this hunt is a special challenge tuned just for the demo, and has a shorter time limit than what you might experience in the full game.”
Kick-Up Your Nostalgia with Capcom Arcade 2nd Edition
Capcom and nostalgia pretty much goes hand-in-hand, and you don’t want to miss this. You get to try not 1, not 2…. but 32 titles during your demo time with Capcom Arcade Stadium 2nd edition. The growing trend of adding more options has been included here with the ability to rewind, save and load mid-game, add special filters and adjust the difficulty in most games. Some games which will be featured include:
- SonSon
- Street Fighter Alpha 3
- Megaman – The Power Battle
- Eco Fighters
- Three Wonders
Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium will be for sale July 22. Be sure to check out the bonuses for pre ordering and buying early and the ability to buy games a la carte.
