It appears that Titanfall 2 will be a thing, which should come as no surprise, and it will not be exclusive to Xbox. Titanfall was Respawn Entertainment’s first game to usher in the newly created studio by former Infinity Ward heads, Jason West and Vince Zampella and was exclusive to Microsoft’s platforms. While Titanfall didn’t meet the insanely high expectations many people had due to them working on the Call of Duty franchise, the game did decently well and appears to be more of a victim of releasing early in a generation with a tiny install base than its quality.
At the Technology, Internet and Media Conference, EA’s CFO, Blake Jorgensen teased that there’s definitely more to come with the Titanfall franchise, but nothing yet is set in stone.
“Last year it was on the Xbox only; in the future, we haven’t yet announced, but we’ll probably have another Titanfall game. “ Jorgensen said. “It will probably be a bigger footprint than just a single platform. I think that’s a huge positive for us.”
It’d be ridiculous to believe that there won’t be another entry into the franchise as the marketing push was huge and, while the game didn’t see megaton sales, its brand is already quite established. Are you looking forward to Titanfall 2?
