With so many panels to choose from, check out our top pics and why you might be interested in our choices below. Remember that bigger panels may require you to get in line early in order to make the panel you want. Rooms do not clear out in between panels, so get in early.
Slaughterverse: The World of Something is Killing the Children – Slaughterverse (sched.com)
Time: Friday July 21, 2023 1:30pm – 2:30pm PDT

Studios), sit down with Monstrum host and creator Dr. Emily Zarka to discuss monsters and the order of people who hunt them. Welcome to the Slaughterverse.
Why We Chose this Panel: James Tynion IV and Werther Dell’Edera have created something truly special with their horror comic series Something is Killing the Children. It has even formed the spin off comic series, House of Slaughter. Fans of these series are surely in for a treat with this intimate panel, where you can get an inside look at the Slaughterverse. And who knows, maybe there’s something to be said about the upcoming Netflix series. Not much is known yet, but Comic Con is always a great place for reveals.
Peacock’s The Continental: From the World of John Wick – Peacock’s The Continental (sched.com)
Time: Friday July 21, 2023 3:00pm – 4:00pm PDT
Location: Ballroom 20
Description: The cast and executive producers Basil Iwanyk and Albert Hughes of Peacock’s three-part event The Continental: From the World of John Wick take an exclusive first look at the series. A prequel to the blockbuster action franchise, the series will explore the origin behind the iconic hotel-for-assassins centerpiece of the John Wick universe through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott, as he’s dragged into the Hell-scape of 1970s New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind.
Why We Chose this Panel: The fact that we can call John Wick a franchise now says something to the popularity of this world. The Continental is a three part event that will premiere on the NBCU streaming service, Peacock. It will give John Wick fans more of a look into the world, especially the hotel-for-assassins. Plus, it is even said that there will be some Easter Eggs for savvy fans who are paying attention. Since the show is set for a September release, this is the perfect time to debut a trailer and maybe some extra footage for the fans.

Description: Get an exclusive first look at the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1, the newest iteration in the acclaimed Mortal Kombat videogame franchise from award-winning NetherRealm Studios. The creative team and voiceover talent behind one of the most iconic properties in gaming history discuss the reimagined story, new features, and art style and reveal new gameplay. Panelists include Ed Boon (chief creative officer, NetherRealm Studios, and co-creator of Mortal Kombat), Dominic Cianciolo (story director, NetherRealm Studios), and Thiago Gomes (art development director, NetherRealm Studios), and actors Vincent Rodriguez III (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, With Love) as Raiden, Kelly Hu (X2: X-Men United, BMF, Young Justice) as a character to be revealed at the panel, Yuri Lowenthal (Spider-Man, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Ben 10 franchise) and some surprise guest panelists.Tech/Geek/Culture aficionado and YouTube sensation Brian Tong will moderate. Mortal Kombat 1 is scheduled to release on Sept. 19, 2023, for PlayStation5 (PS5), Xbox Series XS, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Why We Chose the Panel: Mortal Kombat has been beloved by gamers since 1992. It’s easily one of the most mainstream fighting games, with a few movies to go with it. Mortal Kombat 1 is supposed to reset the universe. Since the game is releasing in September, Comic Con is a great opportunity to show more gameplay and even a few reveals. The description already shows a new character to be announced at the panel. They’ll probably have videos with some backstory and gameplay of the new character. This is a perfect opportunity to see new footage before it gets online, and you may even get to ask a question to the panel.
Entertainment Weekly: Brave Warriors – Entertainment Weekly: Brave Warriors (sched.com)
Time: Friday July 21, 2023 4:00pm – 5:00pm PDT
Location: Hall H
Description: They may be fighters on screen, but that doesn’t mean they’re not lovers (of the craft). A panel of actors discuss the thrill of playing iconic characters, the difference between their personas and real life, and the highs (and lows!) of their careers in Hollywood.
Why We Chose the Panel: Don’t let the vague description fool you. I’ve been to panels like this in years past, and they are usually a lot of fun. They may or may not add more details once we get closer to the convention, so you can see who will be attending. What’s nice about these panels is that they are usually very high energy and interactive with the audience. It’s a great chance to allow the audience to ask lots of questions to the panelists. There’s no telling who they could bring together for this, but it’s interesting that they are described as fighters. This could also mean that the panel will be pretty diverse. Hall H feels a bit light this year, but this could be a very fun panel to attend.
Gen V – Gen V (sched.com)
Time: Friday July 21, 2023 4:15pm – 5:15pm PDT
Location: Ballroom 20
Description: From the world of The Boys, Prime Video reveals its highly anticipated new series Gen V with members of the cast, who will talk about the upcoming college spinoff for the first time. Set at America’s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes (run by Vought International), Gen V explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the school’s top ranking. The series stars Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, and Asa Germann. Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi recur. Michele Fazekas, Tara Butters, Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Craig Rosenberg, Zak Schwartz, Erica Rosbe, and Michaela Starr serve as executive producers. Gen V comes from Sony Pictures Television Studios and Amazon Studios, in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film.
Why We Chose the Panel: The Boys has become a fan favorite, set in a world where superheroes are treated like celebrities to manage and drive profits. With the success of The Boys, comes Gen V, set in a college for superheroes. I’m guessing there will be a new trailer to show at Comic Con, potentially along with the release date announcement. The speculation is that it will be released before the fourth season of The Boys later this fall. This panel is sure to be a bloody good time. Check out the teaser trailer below:
Many of these panels are at the same or similar times on Friday. It all depends on your interests, so pick your favorite and don’t worry about the rest. Anything in Ballroom 20 and Hall H will have lines, so I would suggest trying to get in a panel or two before the one in which you’re interested. Hall H is lighter this year, but the hype is still there. It may be very difficult to get into for only one panel. So be prepared, and don’t let the FOMO get to you. You’re going to have fun no matter what you decide.
