A new angel is in town, and he’s after Chloe. Lucifer and Amenadiel work together to make a tough choice. Do they send their mother back to hell, or will Chloe’s life continue to be in danger? Meanwhile, LAPD’s new case involves an action movie star, which surprisingly brings together Lucifer and Dan.
After Chloe was in her car accident, Lucifer is very upset. He apologizes to her saying that she needs to be careful. His father could be causing her pain, but Chloe doesn’t know how that could be possible. They head to their latest crime scene, and Lucifer is distraught over their latest victim. Wesley Cabot was an action movie star, and of course, Lucifer loved his characters. At the crime scene, Lucifer spots his brother across the street.
Lucifer goes to talk to his brother, Uriel. Uriel came to tell Lucifer that he has 24 hours to either return with their mother, or he will finish what he started with Chloe. Obviously, Lucifer doesn’t want to give up his mother or risk Chloe’s life, and now, Uriel gave him confirmation that he was behind her car accident. The only good thing is that Uriel can’t actually kill a human, which is why he has to create accidents in order to kill Chloe. Lucifer is ready to be Chloe’s guardian devil until he can find a way to keep Uriel from coming after her anymore.
Back at the precinct, Dan is also upset about the death of Wesley Cabot. He and Lucifer actually bond over their love of Wesley’s movies. Wesley’s longtime rival, Kimo, aka The Weaponizer, is the latest suspect, but he isn’t doing so hot either. Kimo is taking any odd job that he can in order to make more money. He’s trying to keep his financial situations from his wife because he only wants her to be happy. Kimo admits that he and Wesley were only rivals in the public eye but were friends in private.
It turns out that Kimo was not involved in his friend’s death. Kimo’s wife and his business manager were actually behind Wesley’s death. They tried to frame Kimo and run away with their money. Kimo and Wesley’s business manager was stealing the merchandising money that to which they were entitled. When Chloe shows up to arrest them, Kimo comes with a gun, angered at the betrayal from both his wife and his manager. Chloe is once again in harm’s way, but she knows how to handle this. She reminds Kimo how life can change in a matter of seconds. She has been trying to make everyone believe that she’s okay after the car accident, but she’s terrified. She hates thinking of how her life could end so fast. All she wants to do is be able to read Trixie a bedtime story at the end of the day. Kimo gives up, and the real bad guys are arrested.
Lucifer and Amenadiel are trying to come up with a way to keep Uriel from following through with his promise. Maze thinks that they should just give their mother back to Uriel, but Lucifer won’t do that. Lucifer hasn’t been paying attention to how Amenadiel’s powers haven’t been working and asks him to handle Uriel on his own. After all, Amenadiel is the eldest son, so he should be the alpha. But he’s not at full strength, and Uriel takes advantage. Afterwards, Amenadiel finally has to admit to Lucifer that his powers are gone, and as an angel, he has fallen.
Lucifer is ready to take matters into his own hands. He prays for Uriel to come meet him in a church. Uriel is ready for anything. He reveals his true plan. Lucifer tries to argue that no one knows what their father wants. Lucifer believes that he is still punishing his mother even if she is not in hell. Uriel doesn’t pretend to know what their father truly wants, but he thinks he knows what their father needs. He pulls out the blade of Azrael. Uriel believes that if their father sees their mother, he will just forgive her and let her walk all over him. Uriel wants to end their mother once and for all. The blade of Azrael will do just that; she won’t be in heaven or hell, just gone.
Lucifer understands that there’s no more reasoning with Uriel. He tries to fight Uriel, but Uriel picks up on his fighting pattern too quickly. What he didn’t realize is that Maze was going to be there. Maze distracted Uriel just long enough for Lucifer to obtain the blade. Lucifer kills Uriel with the blade and is distraught. Maze thought that’s what he deserved, but Uriel was still Lucifer’s brother. This is definitely going to cause Lucifer a lot of pain and guilt in the coming episodes.
