Released just a few moments ago on the Star Wars Facebook page, Disney has unveiled the first full theatrical trailer for Star Wars: Rebels Star Wars Rebels comes from Lucasfilm and several of the creators of Emmy-award winning series, Star Wars: Clone Wars. Star Wars:Rebels takes place some time after the events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005) and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (1977) Featuring an all new cast and some familiar faces the show takes viewers into the earliest days of the rebellion, before it became a Rebel Alliance. THe trailer showcases the animation and teases what is to come in the story. This is an ambitious endeavor for Disney and Star Wars as The Clone Wars series was highly praised for its story telling-action, and canon into the Star Wars universe.
From seeing this, audience members are still reluctant as to how this show will turn out. No Star Wars fan wants this to be diluted into a kiddy show with potty jokes and pure nonsense. But the trailer above is proving that they are truly focusing and staying true to the qualities that made The Clone Wars so profound to begin with. Also intriguing is how this will tie into Star Wars canon. We still have not seen Darth Vader, the Emperor, or The Death Star. For the most avid fan, there is still no mentions of Starkiller from The Force Unleashed Games. Finally, considering how Disney XD poorly handled the Emmy-award winning Tron: Uprising and Motorcity, Disney has to really watch their backs here. Though, this trailer makes me most optomistic. Â Star Wars: Rebels premiers this October on Disney XD.
Disney, Disney, Disney…that doesn’t matter, this is being done by the Clone Wars crew. Does Guardians of the Galaxy suck too? That’s also Disney. Get over this Disney shit already. They just sign the paychecks.
