Team Scorpion attempted to take time away from the office and have a simple Christmas holiday. Now, we all know how well that’s going to work out for this team. They can’t sneeze without running into trouble. Paige arranges for the team to spend time at a remote cabin with no cell reception or Wifi. She wants to unplug and have an old fashioned Christmas. While the team agrees, there is a massive interruption to their perfect holiday.

The trip starts out on a rough note when Walter attempts to be nice to Tim. Walter gives Tim his own office, and at first, it seems like this is a sweet gesture. At closer examination, the office is in the old elevator and has the world’s smallest desk inside. It looks like Walter is putting him in a closet as far away from the “real” team as possible. It’s the thought that counts? Walter is getting a little too obvious with these childish ploys to keep Tim at arm’s length.

Everyone from the team, aside from Sly and Happy, head up to the cabin. Happy helps Sly campaign for Alderman, but she isn’t exactly excited about it. She’s dressed as an elf and may be the grumpiest elf of all. Sly dresses as Santa, and they work to get voters. Meanwhile, Toby attempts to decorate the cabin into Happy’s ideal Christmas experience. He and Paige start baking cookies, while Ralph, Tim, Cabe, and Walter go cut down a Christmas tree. This is when things go sideways.

Ralph is really starting to bond with Tim and enjoys the lessons that Tim can provide, such as using markers in nature to measure distance traveled. Walter and Tim stumble upon some guys forcing a man to presumably dig his own grave. Being who they are, they feel the need to help the man. They get the man out, and he lets them know that he’s an undercover ATF agent whose cover was blown. Cabe is smart enough to test the guy, and he passes.

Back at the cabin, Toby has started a fire, which only makes them a target for the bad guys. They extinguish the fire, but it’s too late. The bad guys are here, and Team Scorpion has no weapons. They decide to “Home Alone” the house until they can get their reinforcements in place. While the fighting is happening, the ATF agent takes off with Ralph as his hostage. The truth comes out; he’s not an ATF agent. He’s actually another drug smuggler, who just happened to know enough ATF agents to pass Cabe’s test. Now the race is on. As a terrified but fiercely protective mother, Paige takes off after the bad guy. Of course, Ralph is a genius and manages to get out of the car and away from the bad guy. Reinforcements arrive, and the holiday is saved.

While in the woods, Walter confronts Tim about his gift. Walter claims to not understand why Tim doesn’t like his office. Walter says that he will get Tim a bigger desk, but clearly, Walter’s attempts are futile. Later, Walter gifted Paige a laptop for Christmas, which is more than she was expecting. He uploaded a picture of the team onto the desktop, but Tim’s face was obscured by a stack of files. Tim understands that Walter’s attempts are completely juvenile and finally confronts him about it.

Walter says that he never liked Tim; he was just faking it for Paige. Tim says that he never liked Walter because he never felt welcome as part of Team Scorpion. Walter resents Tim for dating Paige and “messing up” his team. As if that weren’t bad enough, Walter said that Ralph should be learning from him, not Tim, and Tim will never be a member of Team Scorpion. It’s unclear how much Paige overheard, but she was visibly upset by their outburst.

Paige is excited that Tim decided to stay with Team Scorpion for her, but she’s also worried that he won’t be happy in his position. Toby reminds her that there is no leadership role in Scorpion for Tim, and he’s a leader. Tim took the little desk for Paige. Paige doesn’t want to hold him back and discusses him taking the job in Oman. Tim decides to take the job, and they want to make long distance work. I’m guessing this won’t last, and I’ll definitely miss Tim. Walter might be happy about him leaving, but Toby reminds Walter that Paige will think that Walter was the reason for Tim leaving, regardless of whether or not he had a hand in the matter.
