Teased yesterday Codemasters has just revealed the next entry in the GRID series: Grid:Autosport. The game, which will be released on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on June 24th in the US and June 27th in Europe will allow you to sample a number of different racing styles ranging from: open wheel, street and endurance racing as well as participating in tuner competitions.
Besides allowing you to race on more than 100 different racing routes spread across 22 different global locations GRID will also bring back the much beloved cockpit view that made the first GRID such a visceral experience, and was  removed in GRID 2 for some odd reason.
The fact that GRID 2 was not a massive success for Codies is probably the reason this third game is being released on hardware that many have left behind as their is relative safety to be had in the fact that those ‘last gen’ consoles still possess a massive user base.
That said, GRID’s great balance between forgiving arcade handling tied to realistic visuals and great feel might allow it to build a following that will allow the series to emerge and succeed on the PS4 and the Xbox One in the not too distant future.
All we have to do is wait until the end of June to find out.
