Then we have two gods one male and one female who can create force fields which can be used to make solid platforms for teammates to climb over obstacles. They also carry the staff of Osiris it can be used to activate platforms which are pieces of Duat ( a lost Egyptian city) that’s bleeding into our world. While the Egyptian gods are magic based they can still pick up upgraded weapons used by Lara or Carter. Ever seen a Egyptian god pick up a SMG? Oh it happens here! While Lara Croft and The Temple of Osiris is going with a much more fictional approach , a lot of the names and references mentioned are actual Egyptian lore. In Egypt  many of the locales you would expect are desert like areas, but the team behind Temple of Osiris is making sure we get varied areas like water areas and jungle areas especially with the new dynamic lighting system.
Puzzles are done differently this time. Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris now scales puzzles to the amount of players playing at any given time with the ability to drop in/ drop out for example if theirs 3 players each one of them have to hit a target to open a door, once a player drops throughout the other parts it changes the course of the puzzles you tackle. While in the preview build their we’re much easier challenges, they assured me they get much harder as you go deeper into the game. During your playthroughs you stumble upon gems which are currency to upgrade skills and stats. Medallions offer you health upgrades for the full team and rings can apply effects to characters they upgrade effects to only your characters; going anywhere from Def up or Str up.
Newly added to Lara Croft and The Temple of Osiris are amulets they power up your entire team. Your amulets fill up with power automatically as you shoot enemies. Some amulets give you pretty crazy effects like scatter shot bullets, lightning attacks. The amulet power stays active as long as no one in the group gets hit and you can merge powers together with your teammates for crazy power up effects. Now imagine combining those fire bullets and lightning attacks x 2. Pretty unstoppable force and crazy effects on screen.
The one thing noticeable in this build was the framerate. Lara Croft and The Temple of Osiris is being built on the current platforms Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Kinda odd seeing performance take a hit that bad. As of now Lara croft and The Temple of Osiris will not be arriving on the Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 it was a decision Crystal Dynamics made early on and if their is demand we might see it arrive on those platforms.
Downloadable content is also planned at launch there will be a Hitman skin pack and Dues Ex skin pack. I even asked if we will be seeing a Lara skin pack from the new reboot and confirmed that they are working on it. Other downloadable content planned will be additional tombs to expand your journey no actual word on release dates for those. Lara Croft and The Temple Of Osiris will be releasing this December digitally for $19.99 and retail for $49.99 special edition version, it will include the season pass and other goodies.
