Revealed in the latest Famitsu Kingdom Hearts 3 is moving to the Unreal Engine 4 after all the effort Square Enix has made to get it running on the Luminous Engine. Square Enix has long gone left the Luminous Engine as they had trouble getting it up and running, now with the Unreal Engine 4 we can expect a speedier delivery to the long awaited Kingdom Hearts 3.
Kingdom Hearts Director Tetsuya Nomura stated in the interview that they switched engines for “various reasons”, he then follows and states that they are having rendering issues moving to Unreal Engine 4 but Epic games creator of Unreal has been helping them resolve the issues. No word on when we will get more details or how the Unreal Engine 4 looks with Kingdom Hearts.
