Today Konami announced that they would be reducing the price of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes from 39,99 at retail on the Xbox One and PS4 to 29,99 at retail and 19,99 as a digital download. This seems like a direct reaction to complaints about the prologue’s short length not being proportionate to the heftier price Konami was charging for the privilege of experiencing it.
Here is the direct quote from Konami’s press release:
KONAMI has also announced that it will offer both physical and digital versions of METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, for an SRP of $29.99. Bringing pricing in-line with the “current generation” price, KONAMI aims to provide as many people as possible an opportunity to experience Kojima Productions’ FOX Engine and the first instalment in the two-part METAL GEAR SOLID V experience. METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES for PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft will remain at the SRP of $29.99 for retail and via download for SRP $19.99.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will be released on the PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 on March 18th in the US and March 20th in Europe
