Pac-Man returns in the sequel to the Ghostly Adventures and features some new interesting ways to keep Pac-Man fresh. Pac-Man and The Ghostly Adventures 2 is based off the popular Disney XD show, while aimed for kids Pac-Man and The Ghostly Adventures 2 is perfectly suited for gamers who love platformers or who would like to play something lighter in this day and age were brown and gritty rule the world. As you know Pacman is all about chomping and it remains in The Ghostly Adventures just in bigger 3-D playing field. Controls are simple as X is to jump and square is to chomp, you will find many enemies from the occasional ghost and other wild life crafted from the TV show. New in this installment of Pac-Man and The Ghostly Adventures is giving Pac-Man abilities similar to those of Kirby in where he would eat something and get a power up.
Pac-Man will need some of these power ups to defeat certain enemies and also solve play forming puzzles. The power-ups consist of fire, ice and a few others which were not mentioned. Those particular power-ups can be changed on the fly and can be when needed. You can obtain the ability to turn into PAC-Zilla which turns you giant sized, it has its own levels incorporated specifically for the power up. As PAC-Zilla you play as giant Pac-Man in a sort of rock em sock em robots type gameplay style, in between the segments you also get to play as Pac-Mans friends either Cyli or Spiral who mix-up the gameplay as they provide a break from the platforming by controlling them while on vehicles were you race and shoot your way around a designated course.
While platforming is the main focus it’s great that the other segments exist, even though they are really short segments. Graphically Pac-Man looks wonderful as it is very colorful and that’s exactly what i expected from it, but the biggest surprise was to see the Nintendo 3DS version looking very close to the console versions. It wasn’t exactly running smoothly but it was a impressive as the first game was not 3D on the Nintendo 3DS. Pac-Man and The Ghostly Adventures 2 launches October 14th on the Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, and Xbox 360. Also look below i had a wonderful time chatting with Lead Producer Kunito Komori which you can check out down below! Stay tuned with Dual Pixels for more on Bandai Namco Preview Event.
