After the revival of the battle royale style mode were starting to see many new challengers trying to compete for our attention. Paladins will now be joining the other battle royale games with a mode of its own called Battlegrounds. Paladins: Battlegrounds will feature 100 player matches spanning 300 times the square footage of a Paladins Siege map, and the ability to use character special abilities to create unique battles.
Hi-Rez Studios has also confirmed during their announcement for Battlegrounds earlier today stating a rebalancing of the game is a must for this to work and will not allow characters that may have to many advantages in a bigger playing fields if they must. Paladins: Battlegrounds will play out with 100 players on the battlegrounds but will split teams in 25 groups of of four and each will have the same 8 champions to choose from. Filling in classic roles like healers, tanks, and other support roles. Paladins: Battlegrounds will be launching this year and will be free-to-play. Check out the trailer below.
