Lucifer is faced with some serious dilemmas in “#TeamLucifer.” Someone is killing innocent people in Lucifer’s name, which brings a lot of emotional pain for the devil. Maze inadvertently makes her intentions known to Amenadiel. And Chloe can’t seem to figure out why Lucifer is so distant.

Lucifer is still trying to figure out why Chloe makes him so vulnerable. He has Maze “test out” other types of knives on him to make sure that there aren’t any other vulnerabilities. She points out that if he truly believed these knives would hurt him, he wouldn’t let her throw the knives at him. At this point, Lucifer wonders if Amenadiel somehow “weaponized” Chloe to make him vulnerable. At one point Lucifer wonders if she is an angel and asks to see if she has scars on her back from wings. Even though there are no scars, Lucifer still wonders what is so different about her. Chloe brings a new case that she says can’t be done without him.

Chloe takes Lucifer to the latest crime scene with what looks like a Satanic ritual ending in a sacrifice. On the girl’s back, someone carved “Hail Lucifer.” In a nice twist, Lucifer is completely appalled by this murder, especially since someone committed it in his name. He says, “This poor girl’s death has nothing to do with me.” At the crime scene, Lucifer meets Malcolm again this time officially in front of the rest of the LAPD. Malcolm is trying way too hard to be Lucifer’s friend. Oh boy.

The victim, Rose, was part of a cult, the Church of the Dark Prince. They worshipped the devil, but they never actually sacrificed anyone. Once Lucifer talks his way in, by showing a cult member his devil eyes, he is extremely disappointed by his supposed followers. He asks, “Where is the real defiance and free will?” They still don’t seem to understand and just want him to be their new Lucifer.

The case took Chloe and Lucifer to Rose’s boyfriend, but it turns out he was sacrificed as well. Left at the scene was the word “Morningstar” written in red paint. At this point, Chloe and Dan are convinced that Lucifer is somehow involved. It seems that Lucifer is unknowingly involved. On his way back to Lux, Lucifer is confronted by a preacher, who is all too ready to blame him for everything. The preacher calls him pure evil and won’t leave Lucifer alone. Lucifer threatens him, but Malcolm interferes before he could do real harm.

When Lucifer and Malcolm get back to Lux, it is clear that Malcolm has become obsessed with Lucifer. Lucifer notices remnants of red paint on Malcolm’s hand, and Malcolm says that he caught him red handed. It turns out that Malcolm is trying to impress Lucifer with these murders. He feels that no one else understands him anymore. Malcolm is confused when Lucifer is upset, and Lucifer says that he is not a senseless murderer. Lucifer warns Malcolm that he won’t take him to hell, but he will bring hell to him.

Lucifer never gets the chance to continue to torture Malcolm before Chloe shows up. Lucifer is completely confused and upset at this point. He is furious about all of these atrocities committed in his name. At one point he even says, “…as if I wanted those people to suffer.” It seems that no one understands the devil anymore. Lucifer better enjoy his drink because Malcolm dropped evidence from the preacher to pin the murders on him, but the preacher is dead on Lux’s floor.

Meanwhile, Dan has been trying to find a way to explain his connection with Malcolm to Chloe. Chloe is still upset with Dan for ending things over a text even if Malcolm was the one who sent it. Dan wants to explain everything, but he can’t seem to figure out how. Is he going to tell Chloe the whole truth, all the way back to him shooting Malcolm in the first place?
