After a quick tease was shown at Microsoft’s press conference at last year’s E3 nothing much was heard about the next entry in the venerable Halo series, until today. 343 Industries’ general manager Bonnie Ross has made a significant announcement about Master Chief’s next outing, which will be titled Halo 5: Guardians.
Based on the promo image with Master Chief and an unknown and more lightly armored soldier reflected against each other in the sandy expanse where the game will be set, coop seems like a likely bet as far as explaining the title. Furthermore, Ross went on to talk about how Halo 5 will preserve all of the aspects that make Halo so popular, the smooth frame rate, great AI and immense scale while pushing the series forward into this generation. We should also expect to see more of Halo 5: Guardians at Microsoft’s media briefing on June 9th.
