One of Sony’s worst kept secrets in recent memory has been confirmed today, The Last Of Us is coming to PS4. While the PS4 is seemingly selling all the units it can produce, The Last Of Us can shore up the dry lineup leading into Summer and help ease the pain of “having no games to buy.”
The Last Of Us Remastered, it’s official name, will feature a bump in resolution (from 720p→ 1080p), better lighting and overall image improvements throughout. It’s interesting to imagine how much better looking the game can be considering it came out less than one year ago, but any improvement to such an outstanding game is welcomed.
As outlined by the Playstation blog, The Last Of Us Remastered will contain all the DLC created up until now, which includes:
Left Behind single player expansion
Abandoned Territories multiplayer map pack
Reclaimed Territories pack – details will be coming soon on exactly what is included
In addition to all the DLC coming over, there will be director’s commentary with Neil Druckmann and both main voice actor’s, Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker on all cinematics. With all the rage of pre-order DLC, The Last Of Us follows suit with helpful, yet inconsquential upgrades.
Via Playstation Blog:
100 Supply Points (XP) for use in Factions mode
Two special bonus skins for Joel and Ellie which will be unlocked after your complete the single player campaign
Increased Crafting Speed for use in the Single Player Campaign
Increased Healing Speed for use in the Single Player Campaign
9mm Reload Speed Increase Upgrade for use in the Single Player Campaign
Rifle Clip Capacity Increase Upgrade for use in the Single Player Campaign
For the uninitiated in The Last Of Us there are some great additions and enhancements but it’s unclear if any progress, especially in the multiplayer mode “factions,†will carry over, or if we will all have to start from scratch. Although no details are released on that subject, you can speculate that it’ll all reset considering the additional pre-order bonuses that you’ll receive by pre-ordering from PSN all relate to the Factions multiplayer mode.
Early Access to the Brawler Survival Skill in Factions Mode
Early Access to additional Loadout Points for use in Factions mode
Early Access to the Jeep Cap and Surgical Mask for use in Factions mode
The Last Of Us sold like gangbusters for the PS3 and was met with rave reviews from reviewers and gamers alike. The game is up for pre-order for full price ($60) which may rub some the wrong way but, Sony knows they have an audience in the game. Whether you switched over from Xbox 360 or need something “new†and shiny to play on your new set of hardware, The Last Of Us is a spectacular game and should easily warrant a purchase. The Last Of Us doesn’t have an official release date but should certainly be out before the end of the year.
